Job Description

UI / UX Designer

Location: Remote Time Zone Requirement: GMT ±3–4 hours (Eastern Europe, South Africa preferred) Type: Full-Time Level: Mid–Senior (flexible based on experience)

About the Role

We are hiring its first in-house UI / UX Designer to take full ownership of product design across the platform.

Today, design work is handled externally, which has created friction, misalignment, and slower execution. This role is a critical hire that will bring design fully in-house — enabling tighter collaboration, faster iteration, and a more cohesive product experience.

You will work closely with the Chief Product Officer and engineering team to design products from 0-to-1, helping define how it looks, feels, and functions as it continues to scale.

This is a high-impact role with real ownership — not a pixel-pushing position, but a chance to shape the foundation of a growing product.

Design Vision

We're looking for a designer who can execute a clean, modern, YC-style aesthetic:

  • Simple
  • Minimal
  • Functional
  • Polished

The goal is to move away from generic or "template-driven" design and build a product experience that feels modern, intentional, and intuitive from day one.

What You'll Do
  • Own the end-to-end UI/UX design function as our first internal designer
  • Design core product experiences for 0-to-1 builds
  • Translate product requirements into intuitive user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs
  • Collaborate closely with the CPO and engineers in real time
  • Improve usability, clarity, and consistency across the platform
  • Create and maintain design systems and reusable components
  • Proactively communicate design decisions, tradeoffs, and timelines
  • Iterate quickly based on feedback and product priorities
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
  • 3–7+ years of experience in UI/UX or product design
  • Experience designing SaaS or web-based products
  • Strong portfolio showcasing clean, modern product work
  • Proven ability to design products from scratch (0-to-1)
  • Excellent communication skills — this is non-negotiable
  • Ability to work collaboratively in real time with product and engineering
  • Availability within GMT ±3–4 hours for overlap
Nice-to-Haves
  • Startup or early-stage product experience
  • Experience working closely with product leaders and engineers
  • Familiarity with modern design systems and component-based workflows
  • Experience shaping brand or visual identity at an early stage
Tools & Workflow

You'll likely work with tools such as:

  • Figma (primary)
  • Product collaboration tools (Notion, Linear, Jira, etc.)
  • Direct collaboration with engineering and product leadership

Exact tooling may evolve as the team grows.

Why This Role Is Exciting
  • Be the first in-house designer — real ownership from day one
  • Work directly with the CPO and influence product direction
  • Design real products, not marketing pages
  • Help define the visual identity and UX foundation of the company
  • Opportunity to grow into a lead design role as the team scales
